Roger was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1942, and lived there until moving to sunny California when he was 15 years old.

In 1961 he sold his ‘57 Corvette to pay for the tuition at Los Angeles’ prestigious Art Center School of Design. At the same time, he continued to study with some of the leading painters in California. Roger consistently won awards for his paintings and illustrations in open art competitions. He also displayed his creations at several galleries located in Carmel, Big Bear and Palm Springs, California.

Over the years Roger has become an accomplished primitive/trompe l’oeil artist whose talent is recognized and appreciated by collectors and publishers around the world. Roger was listed as one of America’s foremost painters by Artist Magazine in 1991. He produced two children’s books with a London publisher. The first one was entitled Josephine’s Toy Shop, a uniquely designed and delightfully illustrated “look and play” book with moving parts on every page. It was published in six languages. A second book, The Incredible Cloud Machine, was also published. Recently, Ceaco Puzzles has used several of Roger’s images for their Home Sweet Home boxed collection and their Keepsake Tin Series.

Today, Roger lives in a small mountain community in Southern California, where he still enjoys creating his fanciful illustrations.
